Fort Wayne GM Plant Preparing to Return to Work

Subscribe NowThe General Motors Fort Wayne Assembly plant has notified some of its employees about a pending return to work. A company spokesperson tells our partners at WPTA-TV the notifications are part of planning efforts for the eventual resumption of operations. A restart date has not been announced.
The station cites an email statement from the automaker which says salaried and skilled employees are being notified of plans to reopen and select employees may need to report back to work soon.
Other North American GM facilities are also preparing to recall workers.
When its employees do return to work, GM says they will be using screening, cleaning and social strategies at its facilities. GM’s Fort Wayne assembly plant has been shut down since March.
