Summit purchased Pumie, also known as the United States Pumice Co., which produces products used by both custodians and people at home to scrub tough buildup. The products are non-toxic and gentle, the company said.
“We are pleased to welcome Pumie to the Summit Brands family,” President of Summit Brands, Joel Harter said in a news release. “This acquisition reflects our dedication to providing our customers and consumers with effective, sustainable cleaning options.”
Third-generation Pumie owner Elizabeth Anderson said her company has grown to be a trusted brand over 75 years, and the decision to sell to Summit is one that aligns with the brand’s goals, mentioning how Summit is also family-owned.
Summit Brands declined to disclosed the purchase price for the acquisition, as well as if any jobs would be affected by the deal or how many employees each company has.
