The recognition is given annually to individuals who have made a positive impact on the Fort Wayne region and the state.
Eifert, a Fort Wayne native who graduated from Bishop Dwenger High School, played eight years in the NFL after being drafted in 2013 by the Cincinnati Bengals in the first round. He also played for the University of Notre Dame before entering the NFL.
“We are thrilled to recognize Tyler as a Red Coat recipient this year,” Mad Anthonys Board President Sherri Miller said in a news release. “In both his athletic endeavors and his community support, he has represented Fort Wayne with pride and excellence. He is fully deserving of his induction into the family of Red Coat recipients.”
Eifert joins Jim Marcuccilli and Tom Marcuccilli, owners of Fort Wayne-based Star Financial Group Inc., who were named Red Coat recipients earlier this year.
The honorees will be recognized at the annual Red Coat Gala on May 18 at the Clyde Theater in Fort Wayne.
The Mad Anthonys Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that raises money through its Pro-Am golf events and the Red Coat Gala to benefit other charitable organizations throughout Fort Wayne.
