Former Kimball Electronics Chairman, CEO dies

“Don is beloved, and everyone who worked with him will cherish his life and the legacy that he left us,” the company said in a news release. “We share our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and all who knew and loved him.”
He died Saturday at the Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Funeral, visitation and tribute wall details can be found online.
Charron retired from Kimball in late February after working there for almost 25 years.
He started at Kimball International in 1999 to lead the Kimball Electronics Group. In 2014, Charron helped spin off the electronics group from Kimball International to become a publicly traded company. The company credits Charron for building Kimball Electronics to become an almost $2 billion company.
“Don was a world traveler,” his obituary reads. “He enjoyed football, golf, hunting, skiing, and dedicated his life to his faith, friends and family.”
Originally born in South Dakota, he went to Faulkton High School and later the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology where he was on the football team and served in the National Guard.
