Fishers Lands $7M Auto Tech Center

Subscribe NowAn automotive supplier has announced plans to invest $7 million into a new technology center in Fishers. thyssenkrupp Presta North America LLC says the location will result in up to 64 new jobs over the next two years. Current engineering operations in Indianapolis, which include 86 employees, are expected to relocate to the Hamilton County facility by the spring.
In an interview with Inside INdiana Business, Mayor Scott Fadness discussed the factors that helped Fishers attract the company. "I think, obviously, attracting talent, recruiting talent, as they try to bring in these highly-educated jobs, the quality-of-life in Fishers was important. I think the real estate fit their needs and we’re going to move forward with a tax abatement, incentive package for them," he said.
thyssenkrupp Steering, as the subsidiary of German parent thyssenkrupp is better known, also has a Terre Haute facility and currently employs more than 500 in central Indiana and the Wabash Valley.

The steering business has production facilities in 16 countries. thyssenkrupp Steering has been offered nearly $1 million in conditional tax credits and training grants through the Indiana Economic Development Corp.
