Darrel Zeck took over the position this week after being announced by Department of Workforce Development Director Fred Payne. The office was established earlier this year by Governor Eric Holcomb.
Zeck was most recently a Vice President at aerospace manufacturer Stark Industries in Terre Haute, and also served in various public affairs and economic development positions at the Terre Haute International Airport and the City of Terre Haute. "I’m proud of what we were able to accomplish in the ‘earn and learn’ space at Stark, and the lives we changed,” said Zeck. “I am looking forward to helping other employers and individuals throughout the state.”
The Air Force and Indiana Air National Guard veteran also served as a State Trustee for Ivy Tech Community College after being appointed by then Governor Mike Pence, and re-appointed by Governor Holcomb. The newly created office will collaborate with the Department of Labor and Indiana businesses and schools to develop ‘earn and learn’ programs.
