LLC has added a Seattle-based company to its portfolio. Financial terms of the acquisition of Gaco Western, which specializes in roofing systems, liquid waterproofing and spray foam insulation, were not disclosed.
Firestone says Gaco products will continue to be sold under the Gaco brand and will continue to be made at the company’s manufacturing, research and development facility in Wisconsin. Tim Dunn, president of Firestone Building Products, says employees and consumers should not expect many changes.
"Combining the best of two iconic brands – Firestone and Gaco – represents a new opportunity for growth and long-term value as we aim to create new levels of service and innovation in our industries," said Dunn. "Operations will immediately be ‘business as usual’ across all teams as we begin bringing our portfolios, employees, best practices and distribution platforms together to continue serving as a total solutions provider for our collective customers."
Firestone says the acquisition not only expands its roofing product portfolio but offers new positions in the commercial and residential sectors with Gaco’s decking and waterproofing products.
