Our partners at WTHR-TV in Indianapolis say investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire, which started in a garage housing eight garbage trucks.
The fire began shortly after 1:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hendricks County operation. WTHR reports nine departments from Hendricks and Morgan counties worked for an hour to extinguish the flames.
Brent Anderson with the Plainfield Fire Department says the fire presented challenges for crews, including a limited water supply and "the general hazards of running a business like this," including stored motor oil. Owner Donny Matthews says operations may be slowed, but will continue as normal.
