The Evansville Courier & Press reports a project application was filed last month with the Indiana Department of Homeland Security by Indianapolis-based developer Scannell Properties.
On the application, the project is described as a "small package sorting and distribution facility" that will occupy nearly 255,000 square feet. The publication says the facility will be part of the FedEx Ground network, which delivers small packages in North America.
The facility will be located near U.S. 41 and Baseline Road in Evansville. The Courier & Press says Scannell purchased the 44-acre property last month.
