Fifth Third Bank’s Family Enrichment Center was established as part of ECHO Housing Corp.’s Lucas Place facility.
The $200,000 project was funded by Fifth Third Bank and the city of Evansville through HUD HOME funds. The money went toward rehabilitating, furnishing and supplying resources for the two-story facility.
"Fifth Third Bank and the City’s support of this project is a perfect example of public private collaboration, and has allowed a resurgence to Lucas Place and ECHO’s commitment to create a community where everyone has a place to call home and the opportunity to thrive," said Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke.
The EHC says the Family Enrichment Center will provide families a new space to gain access to tools and resources needed to better their lives. The facility features an early childhood program and a teen and adult center.
The EHC adds the renovations will allow the organization to better assist more than 80 families each month.
