The partners launched Career+ Chats, a virtual platform to help students make informed decisions about the future.
Using online chats, students gain a better understanding of what it takes to succeed in different fields. The program is currently available to all junior and senior high school students in the Greater Lafayette area.
“We are thrilled to launch Career+ Chats and provide students with the opportunity to connect with professionals in different career fields,” said Kara Webb, workforce development director for Greater Lafayette Commerce. “This program is designed to help students explore their career interests and provide them with the information they need to make informed decisions about their future.”
The new platform is an extension of the Greater Lafayette Career+ initiative, a grant-funded partnership dedicated to helping students explore their career options and develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the workforce.
The initiative offers a variety of programs and services, including career coaching, job shadowing, job matching, internships and more.
“We are really excited about the launch of Career+ Chats in the Greater Lafayette region and feel it is a tool that will help school districts, particularly those in rural and urban communities provide better access to career options to their students,” said Eric Davis, CEO of Skyepack. “We plan to release this feature to other communities very soon.”
Skyepack works with schools, departments, and faculty members to develop custom course content, geared toward the specific learning.
