For the first time, the Venture Club of Indiana’s Innovation Showcase will be a two-day event, connecting Hoosier entrepreneurs and innovators with venture capitalists, angel investors and tech executives. This week’s event attracted a record 135 applications from entrepreneurs who want to pitch their ideas to capital sources. During an interview on Inside INdiana Business Television, Venture Club President Ben Pidgeon said the expanded format will cater to a growing list of investors who want to see what the Indiana startups have to offer.
"The entrepreneurial ecosystem in central Indiana is alive and thriving," said Pidgeon, who adds the event will put a spotlight on the state’s emerging profile in the tech sector. “We’re trying to create a serendipitous situation, where you are going to have an idea that sparks with an investor," said Pidgeon, during an interview on Inside INdiana Business Television.
The 8th annual showcase will be held July 13 and 14 at the Dallara IndyCar Factory in Speedway and is expected to attract more than 1,000 people.
Entrepreneurs pitching their ideas will be competing for a record $102,000 package of cash and services. The event will also feature about 80 companies who will man booths during the two-day event.
