The second round of the Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative, or READI 2.0, will provide another $500 million in grants to support projects focused on population growth and quality of life.
The Evansville region, which includes Warrick, Vanderburgh and Posey counties, was one of five to receive the full $50 million from READI 1.0, which supported over 20 projects, including riverfront upgrades, workforce housing and green space.
“This new wave of funding will continue efforts to create stronger and more resilient region in Gibson, Posey, Vanderburgh and Warrick Counties,” said Josh Armstrong, E-REP Senior Vice President of Economic Development, in a news release. “We look forward to learning more about compelling regional projects that tackle challenges, seize opportunities, and enhance the overall appeal of Evansville and the surrounding region.”
The deadline for regional goals and proposals to be submitted to the Indiana Economic Development Corp. is Feb. 16, 2024. IEDC approval is expected to come in April.
