Mayor Stephanie Terry said Tuesday that the effort aims to access the city’s current operations and create a plan to “move Evansville forward.”
“That means creating a plan that helps refine our priorities as a city administration, but also a plan that helps us find efficiencies in how we operate as a city government, so that we can both strengthen the services we offer to the people to Evansville, and so we can ensure that those services are easier for residents to access,” the mayor said in a news release.
The process has already begun and is expected to take about five months to complete. The city said Crowe will engage with city leaders and various departments to create an organizational assessment that will establish a baseline of where Evansville is today.
That information will be used to create the strategic plan that will focus on crafting a vision for where the city is heading and how to get there.
“We look forward to engaging with the City of Evansville to conduct an organizational assessment that will help develop a strategic plan tailored to the city’s needs and aspirations,” said Susannah Heitger, managing principal of the public sector services group at Crowe. “Our goal is to support operational efficiency to improve the delivery of constituent services, while staying true to the mission and values of Evansville.”
The strategic plan is expected to be released to the public before the end of the year.
