Callahan, M.D. has been named chief research and development officer of Eskenazi Health. Dr. Callahan oversees the activities of the Sandra Eskenazi Center for Brain Care Innovation.Over the past three decades, he has spent time developing, studying, and advancing new models of care designed to improve the health of older adults. His clinical practice at Eskenazi Health focuses on the care for older adults with depression and dementia. Dr. Callahan serves as a research scientist with the Regenstrief Institute, Inc. and is the founding director of the Indiana University Center for Aging Research at the Regenstrief Institute. He often serves as a consultant to other health systems and universities, national organizations, and governmental agencies including the National Institutes of Health, the Institute of Medicine and the National Institute on Aging. He has served on the Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation Board of Directors since 2004.
