In honor of the donation, the provider will name its mental health facility in Indianapolis the Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center.
Sandra Eskenazi had previously donated $5 million to the system’s Center for Brain Care Innovation. Her parents, Sidney and Lois Eskenazi, provided the $40 million naming gift to lead the Eskenazi Health Capital Campaign.
Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett says the donation will help address a growing need in the city. Eskenazi says it processed more than 416,000 mental health-related outpatient visits and inpatient admissions in 2018.
Eskenazi says the gift will support innovative mental health treatments, specifically for depression and anxiety.
