(Nasdaq: ESCA) says it has acquired one of the oldest names in billiards tables. The company has signed a definitive agreement to purchase the assets of Brunswick Billiards from Life Fitness LLC.
Escalade says it entered the billiards business in 1977 and this deal further expands its reach into the billiards and indoor recreation markets. Brunswick, which is based in Wisconsin, was founded in 1845.
“Brunswick Billiards and Escalade share many values including quality, adaptability, and creativity that have enabled both companies to become enduring market leaders,” said Escalade Chief Executive Officer Walt Glazer, who was named CEO just before Christmas. “As we’ve gotten to know the Brunswick Billiards team, we have seen firsthand their passion for Brunswick Billiards products, customers, and employees. We are now poised to combine our talented teams to create a world-class business that will continue to provide great quality and value to future generations.”
Brunswick Billiards will continue to be based in Wisconsin and led by general manager John Kazik. The deal is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be completed this month.
