Financial details were not disclosed, however EFP says the acquisition allows it to support its cold chain customers with environmentally-sustainable thermal products.
“We continue to invest in our business with a focus on applying our unique capabilities to unlock the value of breakthrough packaging needs,” said EFP President John Hoeper. “This acquisition of NatureKool augments our capabilities and strengthens our presence in the growing field of curbside recyclable packaging.”
EFP’s Temperature Solutions Group provides “temperature assurance” packaging for the efficient transport of pharmaceuticals, food distribution, vaccines and other temperature-sensitive products using expanded polystyrene (EPS) material.
With the acquisition of NatureKool, EFP says it now be able to provide the same thermal performance using natural fiber thermal packaging.
NatureKool says its products consist of natural fibers that are grown without the use of harsh chemicals. The company website says it utilizes bast fibers which are collected from inside a plant stem, such as hemp and flax.
