Elevance Health named top 10 company for public issue response

Subscribe NowIndianapolis-based Elevance Health was placed at No. 8 on Just Capital and CNBC’s ranking of “America’s Most Just Companies,” honoring businesses that perform well on issues important to the public like social justice and sustainability.
The rankings are calculated by an evaluation and data review of specific issues which this year includes workers, communities, customers, environment and shareholders and governance.
Elevance performed largely above the industry average in each category and was the industry’s best in the environment as well as shareholders and governance categories.
The company was ranked second in its industry of health care providers. It is the only Indiana-based company on this year’s list.
“We’re grateful to be recognized by Just Capital as one of America’s Most Just Companies six years in a row,” Gail Boudreaux, president and CEO of Elevance Health, said in a news release. “This recognition demonstrates our commitment to driving a sustainability strategy that advances whole health and health equity.”
Not-for-profit Just Capital said on its website that it seeks to maintain objectivity when surveying Americans on priorities and the research process to determine the rankings.
Elevance was ranked on the 2023 list at No. 30.
