The co-founder of a plus-size women’s clothing company says work force and economic development programs led the company to choose Greenwood for a distribution center and hundreds of new jobs. Dia&Co. cut the ribbon on its $2.7 million Johnson County distribution center today, and President Lydia Gilbert says the company expects to grow in Greenwood "for many years to come."

The e-retailer has already added close to 200 new workers, and Gilbert says it hopes to add another 500 in the next three-to-five years. Dia&Co. says it is making a significant investment in building improvements, equipment and employee resources at the 211,000 square-foot facility.

The company says the Indiana Economic Development Corp. has offered $3 million in tax incentives and training reimbursement based on the company’s job creation plans. Dia&Co. says it is not seeking incentives from the city of Greenwood.
