Hickey has been acting as an economic development program manager since January 2023. At E-REP, he has led the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy as well as guided rural communities’ applications to Indiana’s Stellar Pathways program.
“He is already guiding important initiatives which will incrementally grow our economic and community development capacity and provide sustainable benefits to our region for decades to come,” E-REP Chief Economic Development Officer Josh Armstrong said in a news release.
In his new role, he will work with local government, electors, the Indiana Economic Development Corp. and other economic development organizations to attract employers and investments to the region, the organization said. Hickey also will support and seek to advance E-REP’s Talent EVV goals.
“Economic development is a team sport. I’m excited to play my role by building relationships and being the connector and facilitator that the Evansville Region needs to grow and thrive,” Hickey said.
Hickey’s promotion comes just a few months after E-REP hired Justin Groenert as its new chief strategy officer.
