The Indiana Department of Workforce Development is hosting a Facebook Live Event Wednesday with agency leaders to discuss recently released details of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act.
The CARES Act is part of the $2.2 trillion relief package signed by President Trump two weeks ago to offer widespread financial relief to sidelined workers as a result of the pandemic.
The hour-long program will be hosted by DWD, several of its regional offices and the Indiana Manufacturers Association. They’ll discuss how the federal stimulus package affects unemployment benefits.
“This event is meant to reach a wide audience, many of whom have the same questions, with clear and consistent responses,” said DWD Commissioner Fred Payne.
Payne said the Facebook Live program will also include information for self-employed individuals and contractors affected by COVID-19, who will also be eligible for the federal unemployment benefits.
