Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College has tapped a major utility leader to speak at its commencement ceremony. Duke Energy Indiana President Melody Birmingham-Byrd will give the address at the ceremony in May. 

Byrd was promoted to her current role at Duke Energy Indiana last June. She joined Duke Energy Corp. in 2012 as a senior vice president of Midwest Delivery Operations.  

The commencement celebration will be held at Hamilton Arena, beginning at 1:15 p.m. on May 7.
