Duke Energy awards economic development grants

As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowNine central Indiana economic development organizations have received up to $5,000 each from Plainfield-based Duke Energy Indiana to fund marketing efforts to attract new jobs and investment.
The utility’s Partnership Program grants can be used to support a variety of marketing initiatives, including trade show attendance, website redesign, promotional materials, and presentations or tours to introduce prospective companies to a community, Duke Energy said in a news release.
“Economic development plays a vital role in the long-term growth and prosperity of the state,” Erin Schneider, managing director of business development, said in the release. “Through these grant funds, we’re proud to support our local economic development partners as they work in new and creative ways to market their communities to site selectors and businesses across the world.”
Aspire Johnson County was awarded $5,000 to launch a digital marketing campaign to attract talent to the area by promoting its quality of life.
Boone County Economic Development Corp. was awarded $5,000 to launch its “Boone Living” branding initiative. A website, digital magazine and social media channels will highlight local parks, trails, restaurants, shopping, transportation, housing and other community amenities.
Noblesville was awarded $5,000 to launch a print and digital marketing campaign to draw industry interest in the city’s Innovation Mile, a nearly 600-acre business and technology hub development district.
The East Central Indiana Regional Partnership was awarded $5,000 to support its presence at conferences throughout the year to promote the region and to network with site consultants and business prospects. Funds also will support a target industry analysis for the region and establish a lead generation program.
The Economic Development Corporation of Wayne County, Indiana was awarded $5,000 to collaborate with the East Central Indiana Regional Partnership and other partners on the target industry analysis and lead generation initiatives.
Fayette County Industrial Development Corp. was awarded $5,000 to overhaul its website and to support the target industry analysis and lead generation initiatives.
The Hancock Economic Development Council was awarded $4,050 to support its presence at the spring and winter Indiana Economic Development Association conferences, as well as the ECONOMIX conference in November 2024.
The Indy Partnership was awarded $5,000 to support its presence at conferences throughout the year to promote the region to site consultants and business prospects.
Shelby County Development Corp. was awarded $5,000 toward the purchase of audio and visual equipment for site visits and meetings with business prospects.
