Cloud Company Grows in ‘Tech-Vibrant’ Fishers

For the second time in less than a year, information technology company Knowledge Services has announced it will add hundreds of jobs. The cloud software and service provider plans to invest more than $17 million to build and equip a new headquarters in Fishers and create up to 400 additional jobs by 2021. The announcement marks the woman-owned company’s fourth expansion in five years. Knowledge Services, which was founded in 1994, has grown to 1,200 employees in Indiana and 1,500 nationwide.

Knowledge Services has made a string of expansion announcements over the last several years. It announced 200 new jobs in 2011, 400 in 2013 and another 400 in September. The company says it has outpaced its job creation goals and has grown its Indiana employment by 70 percent over the last three years.

Chief Executive Officer Julie Bielawski says she has happy to grow Knowledge Services in "business-friendly and technology-vibrant Fishers," saying it will allow the company to grow and retain talented workers and drive innovation. Groundbreaking is set for next year, with plans for workers to move into the new space in 2019.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. has offered Knowledge Services up to $1.7 million in conditional tax credits and training grants based on the company’s job creation plans.

The expansion comes at a time when Fishers and area developers are making significant investments in the community. Last week, Mayor Fadness unveiled a multi-million dollar plan to turn the last remaining undeveloped plot of land along the 1900-acre Geist Reservoir into a 70-acre waterfront park. It would include an amphitheater, public beach, boardwalk and fishing dock. Days later, Indianapolis-based Gradison Design-Build detailed a planned $30 million residential project in downtown Fishers. Groundbreaking on the 60-home South Village of Nickel Plate project is expected in July.
