The Indiana Economic Development Corp. says U.Group will establish its first Midwest operation on the north side of Indianapolis and create up to 130 jobs by 2022. The company, which describes itself as a digital transformation partner, is currently evaluating office space options and plans to add 12 positions immediately.
U.Group did not disclose its investment in the new Indy office. The company says it will hire for a variety of positions, including software programming, engineering, data science and development.
“2019 has been an incredible year for us, and we don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon,” Lena Trudeau, chief executive officer of U.Group, said in a news release. “Expanding our operations to a new city enables us to further accelerate our momentum—it will allow us to deliver broader capabilities, deepen existing customer relationships as well as forge new ones, and amplify the impact we create for our customers.”
U.Group currently employs nearly 300 people in its three offices and off-site. The company says it provides comprehensive, customer-centric technical solutions “designed to help federal, commercial and nonprofit customers keep up with the demands of a digital-first world.”
The company did not provide a time frame for an official opening of its new office. However, the IEDC says U.Group plans to add 100 of the new jobs by the end of the year.
The IEDC has offered U.Group up to nearly $3.7 million in conditional tax credits, which the company will not be eligible to claim until Hoosier workers are hired for the new jobs.
Trudeau will appear on Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick on the weekend of February 7.
