Dexter Axle Finalizes Acquisition of German Company

As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowElkhart-based Dexter Axle announced Monday it has completed the acquisition of German manufacturer AL-KO VT. The two companies will now be known as DexKo Global Inc.
The company says Dexter and AL-KO VT will remain under their current brands in their respective geographies. Dexter, whose headquarters will remain in Elkhart, manufactures trailer axles, brakes and related components in North America. AL-KO VT manufactures trailer axles, trailer and caravan components, chassis and motorized chassis with over 20 locations around the world.
Fred Bentley has been named president and CEO of DexKo Global Inc. He is a board member of Dexter Axle and former CEO of Maxion Wheels. Adam Dexter wills remain president and CEO of Dexter while Kevin Garland will continue as chairman of the board.

With the acquisition in place, DexKo’s sales are approaching nearly $1 billion. The company says the acquisition will result in an event stronger organization.
