The IDOE says the marketplace will provide data and recruitment tools to support the state’s teacher pipeline.
The platform provides data on job openings at schools throughout the state, as well as data on educators seeking open positions. The department says educators can use the platform as a one-stop-shop to search and apply for open positions, while schools can use the marketplace for recruitment.
The platform also features filtered search options, as well as a “quick apply” feature that allows educators to apply for positions using a common application.
Indiana Secretary of Education Dr. Katie Jenner says continuing to recruit and retain high-quality teachers is imperative to maximize the positive impact for students.
“Through our continued development of this new marketplace, we gain a valuable new tool that allows us to understand not only the ‘supply’ from our current educator workforce and educator preparation programs, but also the real-time ‘demand’ for specific positions in our schools,” said Jenner. “This data can be leveraged to make sure we are continuing to support and strengthen our state’s educator pipeline, and in turn, our students.”
The IDOE plans to continue to develop and improve the site as it gathers feedback from users and stakeholders.
