Arizona-based Cafe Valley Inc., which opened a baking production facility in Marion in 2014, says it is looking to fill more than 60 openings to keep up with demand.
In addition to third shift production help, the company says it is also adding workers to its second shift, as well as maintenance, sanitation and delivery driver positions. It held a job fair this week in the city. Entry-level jobs start at $10 per hour.
The Grant County Economic Growth Council says Cafe Valley currently employs more than 420. The company makes cakes, croissants and muffins for grocery, mass merchandise and club stores customers.
When Cafe Valley announced plans for the Marion facility, it said it was looking to employ more than 400 by 2018. The facility is built on the property of the former Thomson facility, which closed in 2004 and displaced 1,000 jobs.
