Deaconess Hits Milestone in Expansion

Subscribe NowEvansville-based Deaconess Health System will Wednesday celebrate a construction milestone at its new Orthopedic and Neuroscience Hospital in Newburgh. Officials will place final steel beam for the hospital, which is part of a $135 million expansion.
Deaconess announced plans for the expansion in January 2016. The six-story Orthopedic and Neuroscience Hospital will be located on the north side of the Gateway Hospital campus. The facility is set to open in spring 2018.
As part of the ceremony, Deaconess officials will give an update on the expansion, detail the services that will be offered in the new facility along with details of new pediatric services that will be offered in the new five-story, 100,000 square foot medical office building that is included in the expansion plan.
The "topping out" ceremony is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. local time.
