Garth Brooks, who participated Monday in the Carter Work Project in Mishawaka, will headline the October 20th show with wife Trisha Yearwood. Tickets will go on sale September 14th.
During a presentation Monday morning in South Bend, Brooks talked about what it means to be part of the event, which will be performed "in the round."
"Getting to come here and play. Getting to be — I don’t know if we were the first call (by Notre Dame executives) — but we were the first ones accepted," Brooks joked. "This will be the most focused on music. It will be emotional for us," saying it will be the last show for the current band configuration after three-and-a-half years on tour with Yearwood. He says the show will be "a night full of class."
Notre Dame Stadium was built in 1930. The venue includes buildings that were added onto the stadium and upgrades that were part of the recently-complete, $400 million Campus Crossroads project.
