Cummins officials announced Tuesday that Vice President Tracy Embree, who is also president of the company’s distribution business, will leave for an external opportunity. A press release did not say what that opportunity is.
Embree has led Cummins’ distribution business since 2019 and has been with the company in various roles for 23 years. Her last day will be Sept. 8.
Cummins CEO Jennifer Rumsey said Embree was an effective leader who played a role in company mentorships and leadership development programs.
“Tracy has had a tremendous impact on people and our business during her career at Cummins,” Rumsey said. “She has grown the businesses she has been a part of and delivered outstanding results. I wish my friend and colleague all the best in both her professional and personal endeavors.”
Cummins Senior Vice President Tony Satterthwaite will lead the company’s distribution business on an interim basis following Embree’s departure. Satterthwaite has been with Cummins since 1988 and previously led the distribution business from 2015 to 2019.
“Tony will continue to serve in his broader role as Senior Vice President and be a key leader and partner to me in evolving Cummins for the future,” Rumsey said. “I am grateful for Tony’s continued leadership — he understands our customers, is a great leader of people and has delivered excellent results in every role he’s served over the course of his career.”
