The renovation is the largest capital project in the university’s history. Funding for the project was approved in the state budget passed by the Indiana General Assembly last year.
“As a Terre Haute based company, we are honored to serve as Construction Manager for this transformative project for Indiana State University,” Garmong Vice President Mitch Hannum said in a news release. “Our team, including our many proud Indiana State graduates, is committed to delivering a renovated space that reflects the University’s commitment to excellence in education and innovation.”
The Technology Annex building was originally built in 1980, and the renovation project will include several modernized upgrades, ISU says, including state-of-the-art instructional and laboratory spaces for the Bailey College of Engineering and Technology.
Design work was performed by Indianapolis-based Ratio Architects. The university expects to break ground this summer, and the project is slated for completion in 2026.
Curtis said the project will help the university build a bigger talent pipeline for essential, high-paying STEM jobs in Indiana.
