Construction Begins on Superior Lofts

The $9.8 million Superior Lofts project includes restoration of the historic former Graphic Packaging facility into 72 high-end apartments and 21,000 square feet of commercial space.
The building was constructed in 1905 and has been vacant since 2010. Developer RealAmerica Companies says the redeveloped space will also include climate-controlled self-storage units, in addition to the apartment and commercial space.
"It’s encouraging that there continues to be interest from the private sector in investing in Fort Wayne. It’s a sign that the positive momentum we’ve been experiencing is continuing and our community is moving in the right direction," said Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry. "More housing options in the heart of our City helps position us as a leader in attracting individuals, families, businesses and economic development opportunities to Fort Wayne and the region."
The building is located near the planned Phase I Riverfront Fort Wayne development. The project is expected to be complete in the summer of 2018.
The city says several public and private groups are investing in the development, including the Indiana Economic Development Corp., STAR Financial Bank and others.
