The athletic park project will include a new softball stadium, track and field complex and athletic building on the former back half of the Donald Ross Golf Club. The front nine of the course, which reopened on April 11 as the Indiana Tech Donald Ross Golf Club, remains unchanged and open to the public.
Warrior golf teams will use the nine-hole course as a practice facility and the school says owning the course could open it up for experiential learning opportunities for its students. The project on the 55-acre site, Indiana Tech says, leaves room for potential future athletics-related development. The new athletic building will include a wrestling gym, coaching and administration offices, locker rooms and a laundry and equipment room.
The softball stadium and track and field facility are slated to be complete in the fall and teams should be able to begin games and practices when their seasons begin. You can connect to more about the fields and the course by clicking here.
