Clarendale of Schererville will feature 177 units and is set to open in 2017.
Ryan Companies Director of Development David Erickson calls Schererville an "attractive place to live," but one that is currently "underserved by quality senior living communities." The development will offer independent living, assisted living and memory care.
Clarendale of Schererville will span about nine acres west of Interstate 65. Developers say it will feature 85 independent living units, 38 assisted living residences and 54 memory care units. It will also include a movie theater, bistro, pub, fitness room and full-service salon.
Iowa-based Life Care Services will manage the community. The architect is PFB Architects, out of Chicago.
