Most of the positions will be newly-created field technician jobs and those employees will be responsible for installations and repairs. Comcast is also adding jobs to its marketing and sales departments.
Mike Wilson, PR director for Comcast Indiana, says the need in the community led to the addition of the new jobs. Comcast will be adding jobs in Anderson, Bloomington, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis and Kokomo. "Really across the state, we’re kind of taking a shotgun approach to try to give people the service that we think they deserve and improving our service quite a bit," says Wilson.
Wilson says they’ve had a good response from leaders across the state following the announcement because adding new jobs doesn’t just help customers at home. "Some of these places are business incubators. Some of these people actually have some real, good, solid economic development that we’re helping so by adding these positions, we just end up helping those people and helping their businesses along."
