Colts Set to Honor Manning

Manning will be first player from the Colts’ Indianapolis era to have his jersey retired.
The Colts will unveil a statue of Manning on the north plaza outside Lucas Oil Stadium on October 7. The following day, the team will retire Manning’s jersey and induct Manning into the Ring of Honor during halftime of the Colts’ game against the San Francisco 49ers.
"Peyton will always be a Colt," said Colts Owner Jim Irsay. "This will be an event our city, state and Colts fans around the world can celebrate and be proud of."
Plans for the statue and retiring Manning’s jersey were announced at a March 2016 press conference following Manning’s retirement from the NFL. Manning will become the 14th member of the Ring of Honor, the most recent of which was Bill Polian, who was inducted last year.
In a news release, Manning said, "I am humbled, and I am grateful to Jim and the Irsay family for this tremendous honor."
Manning spent 18 years in the NFL with the Colts and the Denver Broncos. He is the only NFL quarterback to lead multiple teams to Super Bowl championships. Among the many accomplishments during his illustrious career, Manning is the only five-time Most Valuable Player and set the league record for the most games with three or more touchdowns at 99.
