ClearScholar Chief Executive Officer Jason Konesco, a former president of Harrison College in Indianapolis, says ClearScholar could eventually serve as a "single sign-on" for college students. The cloud-based technology company’s mobile app will include features such as a digital student ID and personalized streams of campus news and information designed to "build, retain and grow life-long relationships with students."
In an interview with Inside INdiana Business, Konesco says the platform will help simplify the flow of information among students, administrators and faculty before and after graduation.
Konesco says the company is expected to have six-to-eight employees by the end of the year, a count that could more than double by the end of 2017. He says "the sky is the limit" for how much ClearScholar could grow. Konesco says the platform’s potential client base could even extend beyond the thousands of colleges and universities throughout the country into high schools. "The long-term focus is to provide in the years to come a truly innovative, cloud-based, student-facing, easy-to-use information system that is much more comprehensive, relevant and contemporary than what is in the market today."
A beta version will hit Butler University’s campus first this fall. It will be available more broadly soon after. ClearScholar says the data created by student interactions will "provide a never-before seen view into student engagement and provide leaders a new opportunity to target efforts to drive deeper engagement and increase student satisfaction."
High Alpha was founded a year ago by several tech industry veterans, including ExactTarget co-founder and former Chief Executive Officer Scott Dorsey, who serves as managing partner. The venture studio launched its first startup, email signature marketing platform Sigstr, in August.
