Marilyn Pfisterer’s annual job fair will feature more than 60 companies looking to fill entry-level positions as well as those requiring advanced education or skilled training.
The job fair will be held April 19 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Lakeview Church in Indianapolis. Attendees are encouraged to bring several copies of their resumes to leave with potential employers.
"With so many of our residents unemployed or underemployed, it has been one of my primary initiatives to focus on finding as many job opportunities as I can and match those openings to individuals seeking employment," said Pfisterer. "Unemployment affects our entire community, not just economically, but also from a public safety standpoint, in that it often leads to desperation and crime."
Some of the companies looking to fill positions include Coca-Cola, Martin University, Monarch Beverage, the Indianapolis Fire Department, UPS, Penske Logistics, Securitas and Walmart, among others.
