CIRTA Executive Director to Retire

Subscribe NowCentral Indiana Regional Transportation Authority Executive Director Lori Kaplan has announced plans to retire. She has served in the position for two years. Kaplan previously served as commissioner of the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.
She served in a variety of other roles before joining CIRTA in 2011, including public works director for the city of Lawrence and chief legal counsel for the state DNR. CIRTA Board Chair Cassie Stockamp says “On behalf of the CIRTA board, we will be forever grateful to Lori for her leadership. We’re eager to identify CIRTA’s next leader as we continue to implement CIRTA’s strategic plan and move forward the discussion of expanding mass transit in the region.”
The board plans to hire an executive search firm in the near future to help fill their executive position. CIRTA is a regional governmental organization working on transportation options in several Indiana counties, including Marion, Boone, Delaware, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Madison, Morgan and Shelby counties.
