Major changes are coming to Circle Centre Mall in downtown Indianapolis. The Circle Center Partnership has announced a multi-million dollar renovation project it says will add a "fresh, contemporary look" to the nearly 25-year-old mall.

An exact investment figure for the project is not being disclosed. The partnership says the renovation will encompass all areas of the mall, including its parking garages. 

"Since opening in 1995, Circle Centre Mall has always been an integral part of the downtown community with its mix of downtown workers, residents, and visitors to our great city," Audrie Thompson, general manager of Circle Centre Mall, said in a news release. "This comprehensive renovation positions us for future growth and the next phase of the property’s evolution."

One of the main changes that will be part of the project includes the transformation of the mall’s food court into a dining pavilion. Mall officials say, when complete, the pavilion will include new lounge areas, banquette seating and community tables.

The list of other improvements includes:

• A complete remodel of restrooms including bright new finishes, floors and fixtures.
• New lighting and way-finding signage in the mall and adjacent garages.
• New flooring in various areas, including: mall entrances and the south rotunda corridor.
• An upgrade to finishes in the new Georgia Street Court and a new connection to Meridian Street on the southeast side of the property.
• A modernization of the glass feature elevators on the north end of the property.
• The addition of a fresh, bright color scheme throughout the property.
• Additional soft seating areas with charging stations in convenient locations throughout the common areas.
• A ‘refresh’ of the Arts Garden façade, including new lighting above the intersection of Washington and Illinois Streets.
• An improvement in Wi-Fi connectivity.

The renovation project is set to begin this spring and though officials did not provide an estimated completion date, the effort is described as a "multi-year project."
