Teams at the schools will be known as the Eagles.
Christel House Indianapolis says the merger allows the schools to increase sports offerings and provide more opportunities for student athletes.
“Since 1895, Manual has been a major community meeting point on Indianapolis’ southside,” says Robert King, principal of Emmerich Manual High School. “Our students, staff and many alumni are excited about this change to join forces with Christel House. Manual’s traditional school colors and identity will be firmly tied into the new Eagles logo and look as this campus continues to serve students for the future.”
The Christel House Indianapolis board of directors, along with students from the high schools, voted to choose new athletic teams’ name, logo, mascot, and school colors to represent the partnership with Indianapolis Public Schools.
The schools say the eagle mascot and logo will incorporate Christel House blue and gold and will add the red and white colors of Manual to recognize the school’s athletic history.
