Hangzhou Hidea Power Machinery Co. Ltd., which produces outboard engines and motors, is investing $500,000 in the Brownsburg facility and will add a small number of jobs.
Colin Renk, executive director of the America China Society of Indiana, tells Inside INdiana Business the company is looking to hire six employees immediately and has plans to add up to 15 more jobs over the next few years. Some of the new positions include warehouse technicians and marketing associates.
Hidea is headquartered in Zhejiang Province in China, which recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of its sister state relationship with Indiana.
"Brownsburg is excited to welcome Hidea to our community as we begin to grow our international business connections with Zhejiang Province," said Brownsburg Town Council President Ashley Bacsu. "We are very pleased to be selected for the first logistics and distribution center for Hidea in the United States."
Jackie Jiao, operations manager for Hida, says central Indiana serves as a logistics hub that allows the company reach more of its customers and dealers.
