While financial terms are not being disclosed, all Copp Systems employees are expected to join CertaSite. The deal marks CertaSite’s sixth acquisition in Ohio and 24th overall, company officials said in a news release.
“We are committed to preserve the legacy that these dedicated professionals built and recognize and respect their strong local presence,” CertaSite CEO Jeff Wyatt said of Copp Systems. “We look forward to building on that foundation by offering employees development and career advancement along with expanded services and support to customers.”
CertaSite was founded in 2018 and serves clients in 21 markets across the Midwest. Copp Systems has been in business for more than 100 years and provides services and monitoring of fire alarm systems.
With the acquisition, Copp Systems will manage cloud-based platforms installed by CertaSite. Copp Systems owner Bill DeFries is expected to take on a new role expanding access control and video surveillance services to new CertaSite markets.
“CertaSite is the perfect partner to build on the foundation and legacy laid by our employees and customers” DeFries said in the news release. “With CertaSite, we have a unique opportunity to blend our knowledge base with a technology-based platform that offers new product lines, is professional and rooted in best practices, and provides significant value for customers.”
The deal for Copp Systems adds to CertaSite’s previous acquisitions this year, including Michigan-based Eastman Fire Protection in September and Lafayette-based Ace Fire Protection in February.
