Central Indiana Hardware acquires Indy security services firm

Subscribe NowIndianapolis-based Central Indiana Hardware Inc. is adding to its portfolio with the acquisition of Tinder Lock and Security Solutions, a locksmith and security services company also based in Indy. Financial terms of the deal are not being disclosed.
Central Indiana Hardware provides a variety of security and access products and services, such as automatic doors, CCTV security cameras, and fire door inspection, for multiple industries.
The company said in a news release that the acquisition, which closed on Feb. 16, represents a significant milestone for both companies.
“We are thrilled to welcome Tinder Lock and Security Solutions into the CIH family,” Ron Couch, CEO of Central Indiana Hardware and parent company Aptura Group, said in the release. “This acquisition aligns perfectly with our strategic vision to offer unparalleled service, expertise, and innovation in the commercial openings space.”
A spokesperson for CIH said no Tinder jobs are being negatively affected by the deal, and the company is already looking to add a small number of jobs.
“I am confident that joining forces with CIH will bring exciting opportunities for our team and enhanced services for our valued customers,” Tinder owner Mary Tinder said in the release. “This move ensures a bright future for everyone involved, and I am committed to ensuring a smooth transition for our employees and continued exceptional service for our customers.”
The acquisition brings CIH’s total headcount to 212 employees across its locations in Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, and Independence, Kentucky.
