The board of directors for Columbus-based Centra Credit Union has named Rick Silvers president and chief executive officer. Silvers previously served as chief retail officer for South Bend-based Teachers Credit Union.

Silvers has already begun in his new role. The company says he will work closely with the board of directors and the senior management team "to achieve Centra’s business goals and uphold high standards for member service."

"We are extremely pleased to have Rick lead Centra Credit Union as CEO/President," said Loretta Burd, Centra board chair. "Rick is a successful executive who brings over 25 years of experience in the financial service industry."

Silvers says his responsibility as president and CEO is to ensure the company continues to grow in order to "consistently return that value."
