The bank says the Centier Bank Museum highlights its owners, the Schrage family, and contributions to the city of Whiting and the development of northwest Indiana.
The bank says the project is the first of its kind and will provide a contextual exploration of Centier Bank’s history.
The bank says the museum provides a collection of centuries-old artifacts, family heirlooms, and documents. The walls of the museum feature historical photos dating back to the 1800s, and the original concrete arch which served as the doorway to the original Bank of Whiting.
The museum will be open to the public after June 29. Visitors can stop by from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.
