Gaming analysts from PlayIndiana.com report the total is a 7.5% decline from the same month last year, but marks the second consecutive month of revenue above $200 million.
Before March, Indiana casinos hadn’t surpassed $200 million since last July.
The four casinos in northern Indiana accounted for nearly half of the state’s revenue total, with Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana in Gary leading the pack with $37.7 million. PlayIndiana said the casino has been the top performing casino in Indiana since October 2021.
Horseshoe Indianapolis and Horseshoe Hammond followed with $30.1 million and $24.1 million, respectively.
The drop in revenue is mirrored by Indiana’s sportsbooks, which also saw an expected drop in April with a total of more than $321 million in wagers. Last month’s total is 25% lower than the previous month and 10.7% lower than the same month last year.
