The recreational vehicle retailer is planning to acquire Edmunson RV in Edinburgh, though financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Edmunson’s operation in the town about 30 miles south of Indianapolis spans nearly 18 acres and includes 34 service bays. When the acquisition is complete, the Edinburgh operation will become Camping World’s first exclusive dealer of Forest River RVs in Indiana.
“Edmundson RV has a strong presence in Indiana and helps widen our #1 position in the state,” Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis said in a news release. “It remains our goal to increase our dealership count to over 320 locations over the next five years, through a combination of acquisitions, new store openings, and manufacturer exclusive locations.”
Camping World did not specify if any jobs would be affected by the deal. Multiple requests for more information from Inside INdiana Business were not returned.
The acquisition is expected to close in the first quarter of 2024.
Camping World currently operates two sales and service locations in Greenwood and Richmond. In July, the company said it would acquire Mount Comfort RV in Greenfield; that deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter.
